Battle of The Giant Multihulls
Right now, four of he world’s largest and most famous multihulls are into day 12 of a brand new sailing contest – “Brest Atlantiques“. The race follows a long triangular course, with competitors departing Brest on the Brittany coastline before rounding mark one, the Cagarras Islands off Rio de Janeiro, followed by mark two, Robben Island off Cape Town, and then heading back to Brest.
It could take the best part of a month to cover the 14,000 nautical miles – and to see who has the proper stamina, risk management…and a bit of luck to take first place.
