NEEL 65 Specifications
The NEEL 65 is a lightweight craft with sleek lines and all the sailing qualities of its smaller brother the NEEL 45 – High Performance, a lightness of touch and comfortable sea keeping.
INTERIOR AMBIANCE:
Interior by Franck Darnet Design, combining a contemporary feel with sober and refined materials. The dress code is “Sport Chic”. The elegant saloon cabin offers a wide panoramic view. The main living area is on the same level as the cabins, allowing functional and fluid movement around the interior—unique for a cruising multihull. The central chef galley is equipped with a convivial bar area.
Two tables (one of which is convertible into a cocktail table) can host up to twelve for dinner.
The two L-shaped sofas face each other in a highly comfortable volume. A large chart table is situated in the centre, looking out to sea with panoramic view of 220°.
The owner’s suite is majestic, boasting a large double bed with a view of the horizon through a bay window over 8′ wide. Light fills the space, inviting the outside world into the interior. The cabin has a separate toilet and a bathroom with shower looking out to sea through a vertical panel.
Each of the other guest cabins has its own private bathroom with toilet.
A staircase leads down to the central hull where the engine room and the technical areas are housed. Here is also to be found the independent crew cabin with its private bathroom. This section is entirely self-contained for the comfort of guests and crew alike.
The layout is highly functional with generous, conserved living spaces for maximum hospitality. The concept is unique, responding to the requirements of crewed charter usage as well as for family cruising, with different versions available:
- 5 cabins + 1 crew cabin
- 4 cabins (1 suite and three guest cabins) + 1 crew cabin
- 3 cabins (2 suites and 1 guest cabin) + 1 crew cabin
Floats may also be fitted out as an option with 2 bunks per float
EXTERIOR DESIGN:
Access to the cockpit is through a wide sliding glass door. The large table accommodates 10 guests comfortably seated on a U-shaped bench. The cockpit has a kitchen with sink, fridge and hotplate. There is a wide sunbathing area to starboard. The skirt of the central hull platform offers a large swimming deck measuring 8′ by 5′ equipped with a bathing ladder.
To port there is space for storing the dinghy with a rotating electric loading crane. It can be completely hidden from view thereby protecting it from bad weather while sailing.
At the rear of the side floats, there are large stowage compartments for leisure facilities (canoes, windsurfing or paddle board gear) with quick and direct access to the sea by the skirts.
Access to the flybridge is via a staircase from the cockpit, providing extra security.
This communal area of 355 sqft contains both the helm and a table for eight people with a bench convertible into a wide sunbathing zone. The helm groups all systems for maneuvering so that the comfort of guests is never disturbed.
Each side float has large deck access hatches which can serve as storage for sails, diving equipment (compressor) or be converted into additional sleeping cabins (two single bunks per float).
A “High Performance” option is available with a net weight gain of 1.1 tonnes:
Carbon mast with rail and trolleys and Harken ball races, carbon canoe boom, textile standing rigging , Dyneema running rigging, pulpit carbon helm wheel, mainsail, Genoa and staysail in Hydranet (Spectra / Dacron) Gennaker and Gennaker fittings, winches Harken Performa, fixtures in composite core.
The NEEL 65 is very easy to operate even with a reduced crew thanks to deck equipment and electric winch control at the helm on the flybridge. Remote control of the engine and bow thruster from the flybridge facilitates docking man oeuvres.
NEEL Exclusive features:
Saloon and berth cabins on a single level.
A bathroom with shower for each cabin , making 6 bathrooms for the 5 cabins + crew cabin version of the craft
The crew area is entirely self-contained and has direct access to the technical area
Stowage for leisure facilities with direct access to the sea by the float skirts to aft
A stepless swim platform on the same level as the cockpit
A large storage capacity (1870 cubic feet) for long-duration storage in the side floats
Not to mention the performance and comfort going out to sea!
